De VR6 zit er sinds het jaar 2000 in. Ik heb 'm in '97 gekocht als vrijwel originele GTI bij een VW dealer.

Toen ook zeker nog met een ander prijskaartje. Als ik bedenk wat mijn 1.6 pasadena toen heeft gekost.

Ja, dat was de duurste (auto)aankoop die ik tot nu toe ooit heb gedaan, maar het is altijd iedere cent waard geweest.
Zelfde verhaal zo'n beetje met de VR6 ombouw, in/rond het jaar 2000 had je niet een VR6 motor met toebehoren voor een 500euro (zoals dat tegenwoordig wel het geval is). En dan nog niet te spreken over de moeite en kosten voor de RDW-keuring op het testcircuit bij Lelystad...
