Default Replacement Body Parts

Hey guys, new to this forum.

Does anyone know where I can get replacement body panels for an 80 rabbit?

The two hardest to find parts for me so far is the rear tail light panel and the lower a-pillars and cowl tray (the panel where the wipers are mounted)

Must be able to ship to the U.S.

Thanks for helping a fellow dubber!

Getting replacements parts is not a big problem. Do you need original material or is aftermarket stuff good to...? Doesn't fit always correct.

I have a welder, grinder and torch. I'll make it fit.

I guess the two worst areas I have to deal with is the rear tail light panel and the windshield tray.

The floor pans are on the way, along with the rocker panels.

Any place that you can think of is appreciated.

Any salvage yard in the US on the east coast is going to be rotted to hell.

Thanks for the response.

The rear end, what model rearlights will you be running. We don't have the really wide lights. We have 2 types overhere:

Big

Small

My car has the small lights, however, I will be happy to convert to the large ones.

I believe the panel is the same where it meets the quarter panels, so as long as that works, I'll go with the bigger lights.

Thanks again for your help!

I really have no preference. Well, my Preference is to have a panel that is not rotted and pushed in beyond reasonable repair.

I'll take what I can get.

http://cgi.ebay.de/Org-VW-Golf-1-He...1QQcmdZViewItem

That is the real deal...

I'm more into the Mk2 scene. So don't know much sources for Mk1 parts. Couldn't find reproduced parts so this is the only result I came up with.

Has the small lights!

The add says nothing about mailing outside of Germany. If he will not send it to the States, he might send it to the Netherlands.

We could make that work.

Just ask him:

Hallo,

Schicken Sie auch nach Amerika?

MFG,
your name here

Hopefully other people have some more helpfull ideas!

For some other folks. I found another place too.

91-22-372
CHASSIS RPR BY REAR AXLE R/H
91-22-373
CHASSIS RPR BY REAR AXLE L/H

Among other parts, the parts above are replacement repair panels for the area under the body as to where the rear axle beam attaches to the body. This is a known rotting point.

http://www.perfectpanels.co.uk

http://www.perfectpanels.co.uk...s.htm

I'll be ordering them soon.

The pic kinda sucks, the doc looks better.
