oh heb even het stukje erbij gelezen:

Back in 2006, VWOA released a hybrid oil pan repair kit (es4369) that was designed to replace your cracked/damaged aluminum pan with a one that was part aluminum & part steel. This hybrid oil pan was steel on the bottom, allowing it to take much more abuse than the original all aluminum version. Not only was this hybrid oil pan able to take more abuse, it also offered 3/4” more ground clearance than the lower original aluminum version. The kit from VWOA included a hybrid pan, pickup tube & turbo drain tube all in one package. This kit was released back in 2006 at a price of $109 and was a runaway success. Shortly after the release VW raised the pricing on this kit to over $300 MSRP and it has been there since. The price of the kit took the desirability of the product away & customers shied away from purchasing it. This hybrid oil pan from VAG was later introduced as standard equipment on some MK4 Jetta's. For whatever reason, VW chose not to manufacture new MK4 GTI's with this great solution.

Enter ECS Tuning..... ECS tuning continued to get inquiries and complaints from customers on what to do with aluminum oil pans that were hanging too low and had been damaged. The VWOA solution was priced out of the market & the original aluminum pans were not a reasonable solution. ECS Tuning sent this problem to their product development team and the team produced a solution for the masses.

komt er dus op neer dat VW ze vanaf 2006 ging leveren voor 80 euri. nu voor veel te duur en daarom heeft ECS ze nagemaakt.
