Citroen introduces Xsara succesor.. the C4

The new C4 is the successor to the Xsara. It´ll have it´s debut at the Paris show this fall, although the pics are out already.
Engines:
7 gas from 88 - 177hp
3 diesel from 90 - 136hp
noteworthy features:
fixed steering wheel hub
AFIL lane assistant, monitors the lanes and if you fall asleep and hence leave the lanes it´ll shorty vibrite the seat to wake you up
translucent display in the center
built in air freshener
Here´s the pics:

IMHO the 4-door is beautifull but the back of the 2-door looks a little outdated already (Mazda 323)

The back looks more like a megane in combination with the old CX

Richard 15-07-2004 12:46

crx/ mazda 3 series behind on that red one....iewwww.... but it's defenitly a citroefiel car

Marcski 15-07-2004 12:54

Yeah, my first thoughts were also CRX / Mazda 323F, but i kinda like it...

And finally a car with build in air freshener!!
I hate the looks of those hideous things...

I still don't know if I like the new design... give me some time... :p

5 doors is ok with me, agree with the back, looks like old CX

RedJet 15-07-2004 23:14

Looks like a mixture of Renault Megane, Ford Focus, Honda CRX and Audi A2, so nothing atually new about this car IMO. Won't buy it.

Zitrone macht mir sauer, :P

First thoughts also went out to the Honda CRX for the Coupé (red) and the "Old" CX for the Berline (grey).
Like it!

But, most important: does it have the hydrolic suspention?

The BX, which had a wide variaty of cheap and expensive version did,
The cheap followup (ZX) didn't, the followup for the more luxurious, expensive BX drivers (the xantia) did.

Then the Xsara was presented: the zx followup (xsara) ( didn't feature hydrolic susp.)

The Xantia (With hydrolic susp.) was then followed up by the much more expensive C5.

The C4 should be the followup of the peeps the could afford a cheap xantia, or an expensive Xsara..

Will they miss the hydrolic-boot 2?
