If all goes well let me know when you get near Cleveland. You will be driving within 5 miles of my house. RJ is flying in Tuesday evening and we are leaving first thing in the AM Wednesday. Would be awesome to hook up with the C2C gang Wednesday to drive to OC.

Everyone is invited Tuesday night for beer, showers, and sleep. Got beds, couches, and air mattresses available.

Hope someone plans on keeping the rest of us up to date since Lucky and Handsome won't be traveling with you.

Old Guy 14-09-2009 21:52

Paul, I can't help as much as Tom, but call if you need moral support.

Tom, is it home?

Otti, are you still bringing the chrome trim. I got $$$$ for you in OC.

otti 14-09-2009 22:20

why should i leave the trim in germany??? just hope it does not get damaged in the plane...

Chromosexual 14-09-2009 23:14

Old Guy 17-09-2009 00:34

Like he said /\ ???? What are you painting at this point?

rabfan 17-09-2009 03:39

So the drillers broke the rods off at 100 meters and had to start the last hole again. I've been flying 8-10 hours a day and drinking like an alcoholic at night to stay sane.
Supposedly both drills will be done by Sunday. I'm going to make the show this year if I have to steal this fucking helicopter and fly there myself.

Stufffing the carbs with blue cheese is not a break in procedure Paul. Keep the carbs from ingesting cheese and they should be fine.

Chromosexual 18-09-2009 22:01

fuck this shit

Chromosexual 19-09-2009 01:42

well i didnt get my carbs tuned tonight............fuel all over the place... plugs were wet Tom..........

finally got my H&R ultra ultra lows on - here she sits with a bit of windage to go... I am also happy to say that after 20+ sets of wheels and hours of researching I got my stance SPOT ON. You will have to wait for those pics :)

screw pics, i wanna see that stance at h2o

Big Caddy 19-09-2009 03:36

Float level is two pages back.

Chromosexual 19-09-2009 09:11

" Float level, in mm, typically refers to the distance from the face of the carburetor top cover to the float. With the top cover held vertically (float pivot at the top) and the float tab (Lc) resting against, but not depressing the spring loaded ball in the needle valve, measure between the face of the carburetor top cover to the top or bottom of the float. On carburetor models where it is required to remove the float to replace the top cover gasket, the measurement should be made with the gasket in place to the gasket face."

why does this sound like fucking eskimo?? if the float level is resting against, but not depressing the spring loaded ball in the needle valve, why do you need to measure?? ok Paul shutup and stop overthinking this......... :chair:

...then I see the little side note at the bottom of the diagram and get more confused.... :shake:

brass float only?
specs may vary?
Plastic float height 12.5mm to tip of float?
OK I know I have plastic floats...........I DONT HAVE BRASS. Is this just another example of me chasing my tail & getting NOWHERE at the end? I THINK SO  :weak:

WTF! :wow:

Chromosexual 19-09-2009 09:32

As I felt that maybe these diagrams were a little cryptic, I decided to look elsewhere for more info..........and it got more confusing!!! same carb.............diff float height..... WTF?!?!

Big Caddy 19-09-2009 15:07

sorry mang, but what don't you understand? just set it to like 12.5ish

when the float raises in the carb it will hit the ball on the valve. measure the distance. when the valve is depressed by the rising float, measure the distance. if the first of the two is off, bend the tab slightly to set it correctly.

easypeasylemonsqueezy.

Big Caddy 19-09-2009 16:50

Make yours look like this.

great to hear man!!!!!!!!!!!

Chromosexual 20-09-2009 03:46

yeah i redid the cams (again)
the biggest bitch today was the syncing of the carbs
the floats (BTW) were a bit off........
the idle screw linkage setup was a little diff that the other setup I had so I really had to crank down that idle screw to get it where I could sync them.

I feel bad that I turned down Ariel (owner of Perfect Metal Finishing) to get together tomorrow to detail the fuuuukk out of the 78 but she is running so poorly (took her for a spin a few mins ago - lean all out) that I didnt feel comfortable with him polishing my turd the way it was.

Hopefully things will go better tomorrow...and I cant actually focus on aesthetics like I always do.......pfft

Chromosexual 20-09-2009 20:22

ahhhhhhhhhhh so fucking sweet :)
still a bit lean ..... but OMG I got her up to 4th gear and WOW!!!

now i gotta clean her up .................. WAAAAH :(

Big Caddy 20-09-2009 21:35

now get cleaning biznitch. drop the anal ease.

Chromosexual 20-09-2009 22:01

Ariel is coming along with me :)

I might just Quilmes myself :o
