This car is supposed to be finished in the start of june, when the main gathering of norwegen vwaudi club is. The only problem is that I do not have the left side ( same side as the steering wheel is on Norwegian left hand drive) chrome trim for the front. I was wondering if anyone had one that I could buy ? I am talking about the small plastic list on the side of the front.. small and easy to post.. has to be in a ok state and at least with 3 remaining taps at the back.. Thanks :)

There are 2 on ebay.de

always look on german ebay, they are 90% honest people who are willing to send....

Gallagher 08-05-2006 12:34

the problem with garmen ebay is that they often do not take paypal.. hate that :) well, good news is that I found someone who had one.. in the post now on its way :)

maniacmark 12-05-2006 09:14

i'm curious

Gallagher 14-05-2006 22:48

the rims are done, and most of the car complete.. pics will come soon.. just have to get some batteries for my digicam :)

PerL 05-06-2006 15:34

Gallagher was having great fun on the race track this weekend, and I was there to get some pics of him. Here's one of them!

Gallagher 05-06-2006 22:23

Racing in scandinavia is what football is in the Netherlands.....

I think I'm living in the wrong country :( ..

looing really nice...

how was the handling? Improved anything? apart from lowering it?

Gallagher 06-06-2006 09:57

just loering with a good kit and wheels.. drove really hard.. as hard as i could anyway.. and drove past a few golf mk1 gtis with double my horsepower :) fun...

Gallagher 07-06-2006 09:17

Ok, I am looking for a polo GT engine to put in this car, so if you know anything, please give me a hint.. preferebly the GK elder gt engine, but I am also interessted in the 3F engine.. need help...

Berserker 07-06-2006 09:48

what is in it right now? standard 1.1/1.3

Here a lot of people put motorcycle carburators (from a honda CBR for instance) on a completely prepared cylinder head using a home made (serge) manifold with a different camshaft,..

i donnow shit about this stuff but i do know that it is more fun and easier than finding a GK...

Gallagher 07-06-2006 13:06

well, I have got 4 mc mikuni carbs to put on it, but it is more effective to start tuning on a gk 75 hp than a 55hp engine :)

berendd 07-06-2006 23:56

true, but the base of the 75hp engine is the same, so find some parts and they will produce the same..

good job on track with it, theyre made for it.

Gallagher 08-06-2006 00:15

well, the base is not really the same.. more similar to the gt mk1 HH 60hp engine ( with higher compression rate of course) but not to my 55hp HB engine..

Berserker 08-06-2006 09:05

HB has 50 bhp right? Indeed what Berend says, its the same basis so find a HH and do some modifications on this..

look on www.polo86c.nl, ok its in dutch but look at the projects..

ps aren't you afraid of ruining the paintjob with the racing....

better use a not so good painted car for that...

Gallagher 08-06-2006 16:18

I am building the blue polo to be my race car now :) cars where build to use by the way :) seems as I am getting a GK engine now..

PerL 28-05-2007 22:16

My friend Gallagher at the track yesterday, what an experience it was to ride in this car.

He would throw it sideways in the tightest corners, and wore out his rear wheel bearings like there was no tomorrow :screwy: :D :D

Tjaap 28-05-2007 22:52

sweet jesus, it turned out beautifull

Berserker 29-05-2007 08:09

That's just ubercool, looks like A-Team driving to me.... :woowoo:

Gallagher 30-05-2007 13:46

here is a bit more polo-porn :)

first one of my little brother borrowing my car with me as a nervous bystander :)

After one day of driving fast laps I started to have fun:)

Berserker 30-05-2007 15:38

 Dude you converted that thing to RWD?? Looks superb..

Any chance that would work with a polo? or do you think it's because of the trunk?

berendd 30-05-2007 15:42

lot of sideways... but saloons do have a bit more weight at the rear so less understeer..

I have upgraded the front brakes to larger ones, but the rear ones are just the same as the original ones.. this causes me to to able to brake hard comming into a corner and make it overstear.. It also has to be mentioned that I used about 50 laps on that course training to get it right :) and then followed by another 20 laps of overstearing :)

Per: I actually think this is one of the times you rode with me.. but it is not the widest one :)

the probem with understeering is still there, indeed, but with a little bit of training, you learn how to cope with it.. Yes there is a bit more torque at the end of the derby because of the trunk, but I still believe I can do the same when I get on track with my polo mk1 next year..

Berserker 30-05-2007 22:49

Ah something to try with the audi as well :D
