I'm not really into Polo's, but isnt the KR shortblock different from the Polo block? As in: the motormounts would not fit?

if you can make a VR6 fit, you can do a KR, but aren't there much easier ways to get that kind of power?

You'd better get hold of a 1.6 16V 6N (don't know motorcode) GTI.
But a KR should be possible. The first Ibiza Cupras (the same as a 6N) had a similar enginetype. Only much faster. 2.0 16V.

Those are similar to the polo except for the motor compartment, at that point they are the same as golf mk3, this is also so for the polo station, classic and caddy.
