Thumbs up Hello! (Alloy wheel question mk4 Golf)

I used to have a Ford fiesta (Designed for living, engineered to rust!) and used to frequent a ford forum but when I switched to the VW Golf I could never find a VW forum. I've been searching for an english speaking VW forum for ages and at last I've found one!

I have a tires and suspension question that has been bugging me for ages, I have a Mk4 1.4 Golf (03 plate) and I was wondering if Kerscher Futura or Carmona alloy wheels are set up to fit a VW Golf mk4. I want to go for the small deep dish alloy look and was also wondering what would be the minimum size of alloys that would fit on a the Golf and clear the brake calipers.

When it comes to lowering I was wondering how low I could go with a set of 16"s.

Anyone have any photos of a mk4 with small wheels?

Thanks.

at first welkome !

your golf mk4 has 5x100 lug and 57,1 center.

the futura

fits , but the size .... I guess 16 " is the smallest

Hello, thank you for the warm welcome.

I have a picture of my Golf but the quality is poor as I have taken a photograph from a film photo with my digital camera - Ive tryed to clean it up alittle. Here it is, as you can see it is totally standard but I hope it does not stay that way for long!

I may just go for the 17"s but has anyone heard of the quality from this brand?

Thanks.

Talking

If I got the 17"s I would have to lower it but I was speaking to the guy at the auto shop and he said that you cannot get shock absorbers and springs for a 1.4 Golf if it has a anti roll bar fitted.

I dont know what he means by that but I dont know if mine has one fitted. I was thinking of lowering it -40 mm but I would really have to upgrade the shocks as well to improve the handling. I find the golf isnt as good at cornering as the fiesta I used to have when I stiffened the suspension up on that so I figured it must be improved apon.

Here is a little picture of my fiesta mk3 - please dont laugh!!

Thanks!

XR2i Replica. It came out the factory as a 1.1 HCS pushrod. It was the 95' model with the stronger chassis and air-bag. I had to let it go because it was starting to rust.
