Smile litlekris - UK

been browsing this forum for a few years just realised i've never registered.. i'm never a big poster anyway, just love to lurk and intake all the information i can get.. as normally any questions i've got have normally been answered a hundred times, i just know how to use the search functions..

anyway..
this is my baby when i bought her in 2009, i've had a few mk1's before including my first car but had a brief hiatus experimenting with other car makers and travelled the world for a couple of years but this ebay whilst i was in jamaica and picked her up on my first day back in the UK..

i didn't do much to her apart from the 15" pirellis and just enjoyed a very reliable and fun car to drive for a couple of years.. i then decided to change the coolant one day and it gave me problems ever since, always overheating and not running right.. i tried to diy fix her regularly but ended up sourcing a GTI Engineering engine last year so lifted out the old and in with the new.. since then i've bought a lot of little bits and pieces for her and will slowly be rebuilding her over the next month ready for the Mk1 golf owners club agm,

I'm currently on the lookout for an oettinger 8v valve cover and happich rear windows to finish her off.. i will be taking her to wolfsburg this year and want to visit either M.I.V.W or the mk1 watercooled.nl meet later this year!

i will get better pics up but they are scattered across different sites and devices..

cheers

chris

hi thanks for the welcomes, wish i could speak dutch to get more involved as having to rely on google translate is terrible..

so, i managed to get hold of the valve cover i was after.. been waiting for ages and then 3 came up at once! ..still waiting for delivery, does anyone know if they fit on with the original nuts?

I designed some stickers to go on my speedo and rev counter, i like the look of them, not sure if i put the speedo needle back on correctly so might have to do it again on some sportline clocks i got hold off.. (pic wastaken before i moved needle to otherside of pin)

also refurbed my rear badges that will go on my de-badged tailgate..

and reproduced some period tax discs from my favourite tuner..
