Default new to vw's

im new to the bug world. i just got my 73 last night and i was wanting to fix it up so cal style i think. i was going to lower the front. go with drag lites 15x3.5 in the front with im guessing a 15x7 out back. i have a few question on what size wheel and tires can i run with stock fenders? what is needed for the drop spindles? what is the narrowed front beam? and what size tires would work on a 15x7 in the rear? here is a pic of it

nice car, welcome..
tyresizes obviously have to do with how much you lower and narrow it.

narrowed beam is just what is says, a narrowed front beam, IMHO you can easily go overboard with that, too narrow does not look good in my book.

im not worried about running a wide tire up front. the stock width is just fine. im guessing i would run a 145 or 135 with drop spindles. but how wide can i go in the back with say a 2" drop
