Question pop-out window t2a/b

hello,
I am new here.
We (me and my family) bought a '73 T2 a/b Dormobile Campervan with a porsch 2 liter injection engine. We imported it into Holland from Germany.
A Realy cool and good car but it still needs some work.
The next thing comming up is to renew the rubber around the front window it is in such a bad state.... I understand that it is a popoutwindow, but I haven't found any clear info and discription of what the excact procedure is.
Is anybody willing to discribe in staps how this goes or does anybody knows where i can find a realy good discription (dutch or englisch)
thanks, michiel

If you need to renew the rubberseal, the old one is in such a bad state, you won't want to save the old one.

Thus, take a knive, and cut the rubberseal around the glass.

I'll draw you a nice pic how to cut

(just wait a few minutes)

Cut the rubberseal where the arrow is.

It's a split-view of the windowsseal (red), with glass in it (blue), and the metalwindowframe (black)..

You could try the push the window outward, but since the glass is panoramic, it could break easily, and since you'll be throwing away the old seal anyway...

You could cut the rubber on all sorts of other ways, but in this way, you won't hit any metal (paint), only glass (which if it would scratch, won't ever by visible.

NOTE:
If your windowseal has a chrome bezier around inside the rubberseal: Cutting won't be nessasary: just remove the bezier, and you can easily push the window out.. To put the bezier back in the new seal again is a pain in the ass, and requires special tools! (or anyone here might give you a hint; I'm still struggling)

Default pop-out window t2a/b

thanks for the explanation + drawing, great help!
I haven't got a bazier so cutting is a good option.
Can you perhaps also give me advise how to place the window back with a new rubber.
cheers, michiel
