Default New to the forums

Just wanted to say to everyone. new to volksforum but not to vw's
this is my latest project. Recent job/location change has slowed down the time that i have to work on it, but its going to get painted after the new year. NArrowing the beam this week. so im hoping to have it all assembled by feb/march

picking it up from its previous owner...



getting dropped at my house

UPDATE
got the beam out and all associated front end parts











started sanding the fenders before running out of time and sand paper

new glovebox


new lining for under the carpet


new carpet kit


new headliner


=)

UPDATE
got the rear fenders sanded down and a first coat of primer



and a pic of the wheels im going to running for now. The are 14x5's

welcome.. nice project. i like the colors too.. looks like Aviator grey and Nimbus grey from the TT

Welcome, indeed nice project. Colours do seem rather special, are they modern colours like Jaap is suggesting? Or an old equivalent?

thanks. Im actually changing the color, its going to be mocha brown (B6 vw passat color) with white leather interior with brown piping.

thanks for the kind words guys..
im more than likely going to tackle narrowing the beam this weekend. i was thinking about going with a 6 inch narrow. Does anyone have pros/cons of going with that much of narrow?

A black steering wheel, wasn't that a one year only kind of deal? 1963? I had a 64 with a light tan steering wheel.

Other than that, looks like a nice project! I think your new color combo is going to look great!

talked with the body shop (401restos.com) and the car is going in for paint in 2 weeks. They also have a 63 rag that they are cutting up and grafting into my bug. picked up these wheels, inspired by the machinist on here and will be going for the same look.










when done i can only hope they turn out as well as his were done.

But 6 inch narrowing with these wheels, I can't imagine it will fit.
