Default First Car

Hi, im almost 18 yrs and since my 14 I have wanted to buy a golf mk1 or Jetta mk1. I have my license and money. But now i have a few questions.

1) Could you use your mk1 everyday? I mean like drive to school or work, and go to friends?

2) Is it reliable? will it start most of the times, if the motor is fine offcourse.

3) Were did you buy your mk1?

thanks, im a newb with cars, but i really want to learn, so don't be to harsh.

thanks!

where are you from? what engines are you looking at?

there are plenty of people here dailying mk1's, but they ARE old cars and need maintenance. How-ever depending on your location the could still be very solid cars.

looking at diesel or petrol? Diesel's are indestructable. just take some-one to look at the car that knows its bad points. Rust will be a problem in your location.
