Default JoostVW - Netherlands

First of all, This is me:

After almost three years on this forum, I thought it would be time to open a page on the international part of the Volksforum.

I must look like a pervert to you because most of my post are on these pages:

Tatooed chicks
http://www.volksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70607

The official HOT ass thread.
http://www.volksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66013

Dub's and chicks thread
http://www.volksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5133

but I think its because we don't have such pages at the dutch chapter
and I really don't have anything else to say in english.

But then I thought: I do have something.
My project and other car are still not on the international chapter.

So here they are:

my '84 Golf MK2:
few months ago:

last winter it was still in one piece:

it once was a 1.6 petrol engine with automatic gearbox.
and I'm currently placing a 1.9 TDI (AGR) engine in it.

for this swap I needed a donor:

and a temporary ride:

that's it for now, have to go to work.
I'll keep you posted

I finally have a wiring loom
I will have to sort it out a bit because it's pretty much but the engine itself almost has every connector connected now.

rolled it outside last week.

front with brand new GTI radiator.

The temporary car (The rat) witch I drive for over a year already, passed the MOT and on this photo still has the winter tires:

and fitting the P's and screwing it down again

planning a photo session for it now.

And another dub in the family
Just traveled 300 km to the other side of Holland to get this little thing for my girlfriend.
It's a simple 1.4 8V multipoint.
Needs allot of polishing and finishing but she has a pretty handy boyfriend
Already a little bit closer to the ground (but that will be enough for her).
I'll post some more pics when the Alloy's are mounted.

Nice car Joost, but please find some other wheels or at least decent hubcaps.

As promised, after mounting the Borbet T 7x15 Alloys,
we polished the whole car and waxed it.

and some progress on the red one:
some wiring between bay and cockpitt/ignition-switch.

Last week I helped my buddy Carlo with his '82 Mexican Beetle.
Some work on the brakes and a little welding to pass the M.O.T.

Today he came by to show it off and have a little cruise with it with me.

My older brother came by to show of his freshly bought Mk1 convertible.
It's a US model with power steering, cruise control and airco

My brother in the white shirt, the one on the left is Carlo ('82 Beetle) and some friend of my brother at the right.

It became a little GTG with 8 cars

Unfortunately my little brother then came home with his Mk3 Golf.
Had an accident And I hope I can fix it for him but I don't now if the chassis is still straight.

Since it's more of a blog post anyway:
I also went to the car show: AutoRAI at the RAI in Amsterdam.
I have seen a lot of crap but also some nice rides, I'll post some pics soon.

Grtz Joost

Dust Dust.

That's been a while, so lets update this thing.

did some work on the TDI:

fitted a new oil pump + oil sump. Also turned the oil cooler (heat exchanger) 90 degrees so it doesn't hit the engine mount anymore.
after that I mounted the front back on, bumper + grills.

The rat mk2:

took some pictures and sold it to a friend later on. (Carlo with the '82 beetle).
He uses it as a winter bucket.(and still runs with 290.000km on de odo)

So in replacement of the "88 Rat MK2 came my new daily:
A '92 MK3 Golf with Vento front (oh I'm sorry, Jetta front )
It's a GL with a 1800 8v engine and some cheap coilovers.

this is an old picture:

The yellow foil on the headlights where removed before I bought it because the Police didn't like it.
It was camo green once, the previous owner painted it black but he forgot the roof, bonnet, mirrors and logo's.

While I was at work I drove it inside:

to mount a new stereo:

And fixed al the lights in the dash.

Found this in the garage:

mounted

I know my front bumper lip is broken, I ordered a new one a while ago but keep having problems with it (broken during transport, wrong one's).

A week later I painted the bonnet:

and I bought this 16x:

To fit my Fiat/Lancia spec Borbet A's
16" x 7.5 4x98.

Also been busy with our Porsche project.
Since a year I've been helping my friend by building a Porsch 944 and making it ready for the circuit.
He wants to race the "Youngtimer cup" at several dutch circuits.

And while doing that collect (sponsor) money for children with cancer.

We've come a long way so I'll post some pics of the progress:
The shell:

But unfortunately it's all in dutch
