Stufffing the carbs with blue cheese is not a break in procedure Paul. Keep the carbs from ingesting cheese and they should be fine.

well i didnt get my carbs tuned tonight............fuel all over the place... plugs were wet Tom..........

finally got my H&R ultra ultra lows on - here she sits with a bit of windage to go... I am also happy to say that after 20+ sets of wheels and hours of researching I got my stance SPOT ON. You will have to wait for those pics

" Float level, in mm, typically refers to the distance from the face of the carburetor top cover to the float. With the top cover held vertically (float pivot at the top) and the float tab (Lc) resting against, but not depressing the spring loaded ball in the needle valve, measure between the face of the carburetor top cover to the top or bottom of the float. On carburetor models where it is required to remove the float to replace the top cover gasket, the measurement should be made with the gasket in place to the gasket face."

why does this sound like fucking eskimo?? if the float level is resting against, but not depressing the spring loaded ball in the needle valve, why do you need to measure?? ok Paul shutup and stop overthinking this.........

...then I see the little side note at the bottom of the diagram and get more confused....

brass float only?
specs may vary?
Plastic float height 12.5mm to tip of float?
OK I know I have plastic floats...........I DONT HAVE BRASS. Is this just another example of me chasing my tail & getting NOWHERE at the end? I THINK SO

WTF!

As I felt that maybe these diagrams were a little cryptic, I decided to look elsewhere for more info..........and it got more confusing!!! same carb.............diff float height..... WTF?!?!

sorry mang, but what don't you understand? just set it to like 12.5ish

when the float raises in the carb it will hit the ball on the valve. measure the distance. when the valve is depressed by the rising float, measure the distance. if the first of the two is off, bend the tab slightly to set it correctly.

yeah i redid the cams (again)
the biggest bitch today was the syncing of the carbs
the floats (BTW) were a bit off........
the idle screw linkage setup was a little diff that the other setup I had so I really had to crank down that idle screw to get it where I could sync them.

I feel bad that I turned down Ariel (owner of Perfect Metal Finishing) to get together tomorrow to detail the fuuuukk out of the 78 but she is running so poorly (took her for a spin a few mins ago - lean all out) that I didnt feel comfortable with him polishing my turd the way it was.

Hopefully things will go better tomorrow...and I cant actually focus on aesthetics like I always do.......pfft

If you are showing I hope you registered. Registration ended 2 days ago.

Glad to hear Ariel is coming along. He can give me a business card or 10 for his chrome work.
