Default help with APK

hi there this is a question for the dutch boy's really

i have a MK2 golf GTi 8v digi ,Edition one

and the car was imported from germany in 1998 but built in 1989 , and it was fitted with a cat , that has been removed and now i haver got it ready for APK but the cat is missing and the Co is too high for the law , but most mk2 golf's here have no cat , is there any thing i can do apart from fit a new cat ??

yeh it makes sense,. it just needs to have the CO for a 89 car. that can easily be obtained without a cat on a healthy motor. cheers Jaap

nah the guy who does APK say's because the paper's say U9 after the make and model infomation that it needs to be below 0.5 Co mine is 1.20 and because it has a lamba probe it will not change when i adjust the Co screw !!!

yep, leaving for Friesland tonight. the U9 only applies after 1991, before 91 they needs the emmisions set for that year, U9 or not.
my 89 never had a cat, had U9, and never got into trouble at the APK

cool just a confused idiot APK guy

now i have another problem !!

i want to go get my girlfriend from work and engine start's ok run's for about 20 second's , cough's misses and stop's , i cannot keep it running with the throttle as it just cough's more till it stop's , then it will start again perfectly but does the same as before !!!

checked all the silly thing's any ideas ??

right then it is fixed , thank's to a new airflow meter , and it is now APK till december 2009
