Default The MK5 VAGcom Thread

In this thread you can read all about mods which you can use to alter your MK5 Golf/Jetta. We assume that VAGcom is set up and working properly and that you are familiair with programming with VAGcom. We can not be held responsible for the information in this thread! Text based on VAGcom release 908

Always write up the original coding before you make any changes!!!


Auto-Lock
It locks all your doors once your vehicle reaches a speed of 15km/h, they stay locked untill you manually unlock them.
Walkthrough:
Module 46 - Central Convenience Module (for cars with powered windows, owners with manual windows select Module 35 - Central Locking)
-Select-
-Coding 07-
-Long Coding Helper-
-Check Byte 0, Bit 4-
-Exit Long Coding Helper-
-Do it-
If succesfull, VAGcom will display a pop-up that says: Coding Accepted


Auto-Unlock
It unlocks all doors once you retract your key from the ignition.
Walkthrough:
Module 46 - Central Convenience Module (for cars with powered windows, owners with manual windows select Module 35 - Central Locking)
-Select-
-Coding 07-
-Long Coding Helper-
-Check Byte 0, Bit 3-
-Exit Long Coding Helper-
-Do it-
If succesfull, VAGcom will display a pop-up that says: Coding Accepted


Turnsignals as Parkinglights (US-Front)
Your turnsignals will be permanently on, it gives your car a US-look
Walkthrough:
Module 09 - Central Electronics Module
-Select-
-Coding 07-
-Long Coding Helper-
-Check Byte 07, Bit 0-
-Exit Long Coding Helper-
-Do it-
If succesfull, VAGcom will display a pop-up that says: Coding Accepted


Coming Home Function
Your headlights will stay on for another 30 seconds once you've closed your car. Please be aware of the fact that your light switch has to be in the ON position.
Walkthrough:
Module 09 - Central Electronics Module
-Select-
-Coding 07-
-Long Coding Helper-
-Check Byte 00, Bit 7-
-Exit Long Coding Helper-
-Do it-
If succesfull, VAGcom will display a pop-up that says: Coding Accepted


Leaving Home Function
Your headlights will flip on for 30 seconds once you've (remotely) opened your car. Please be aware of the fact that your light switch has to be in the ON position
Walkthrough:
Module 09 - Central Electronics Module
-Select-
-Coding 07-
-Long Coding Helper-
-Check Byte 00, Bit 5-
-Exit Long Coding Helper-
-Do it-
If succesfull, VAGcom will display a pop-up that says: Coding Accepted


Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
Your headlights will switch on once you turned the ignition
Walkthrough:

-Select-
-Coding 07-
-Long Coding Helper-
-Check Byte 00, Bit 3-
-Exit Long Coding Helper-
-Do it-
If succesfull, VAGcom will display a pop-up that says: Coding Accepted
