Driving insurance in the U.S.

Howdy international travelers,
I'm posting to see if anyone can help me get some information about insuring the international traveler to drive a rented vehicle in the U.S. I want to rent my '73 camper to Europeans traveling to Southern California, and I am having a devil of a time getting any of the "normal" insurers to even quote me a rate or offer to write a policy. Does any one know of a special problem with getting auto insurance while driving here in the U.S.? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Hey

nice idea!

uuum im not sure but if you want to rent "legally" dont you have to register some where as a sort of bussiness or additional income, besides your normal work? seems kind of logical to me even if its just one bus!
What about visiting an existing "small" rent'a'camper bussiness and asking them?

Good luck, and yeah if i ever get the chance i might contact you about renting it :D
