Colors and Markup
 

I'd like to make to remarks on this wonderfull new community-forum-thingy

Remark number 1

The coloring of the forum. In the 'reply' thingy I'm writing right now, there's a savana/desert kind of color which surround the text, and thus makes it quite clear to my eye, what part of the screen is usefull for input, and what is 'surroundings' (like main-menu, where am I, and all other aditional shit).
I like that.

I like it when there are clear borders between 'things need to read' and 'additional stuff'. Right now, when reading the forum, EVERYTHING is blue-ish (even the smilies). So the MainMenu is as important as the signature, and the header, and the topic text... But when I browser/view/read some topic, I just want to see 3 thing 'directly' (or in dutch: 'in 1 oog opslag');
1- The Posting-text and Reply's
2- A quick view on the author's details, to see WHO said WHAT
3- Hooters, Porn and titties
After I saw these things, I might think about reply'ing myself, or just skip to another topic... Therefor, I would say: use some other colors which will add abit more contrast.


Remark number 2
Mark-up. The old way: A tipical posting would look like this:

Or described:
Left corner: Personal info, avatar and shit,
CENTER (Wide): Actual posting
Right upper corner (or lower) : Some buttons like reply, edit, delete and shit.

This way, the pages don't need 'to much' scrolling..

Now, with the avatar, and other personal info, ONTOP of every posting, the pages get longer and longer..

Would not it be nicer to get the shit wrapped up together? And maybe even put the signature within a smaller box or summthing (and not make the signature as big as an episode of the holy bible, whereas the actual posting information may only contain a smilie or summ like that?

I did post this view of mine before in another topic, but hey, I might just tell you all again..


Remark number 3
The International and Dutch chapters...

While where at it: Maybe it's a good idea to, to make the background color (or summtin else 'obvious') in a diff color for the Dutch and Int. sections?

When you 'just click' new posts,.. you don't a 1-2-3-view of the language that should be spoken inside that particulair section...

Remark number 4
Please remove the rule/agreement that I should 'agree' to when registering... I wish to provoke people with images, text and maybe even video materials. And I like to be amused with some 'pink' images every once in a while..


Remark number 5
Classifieds is in the OFF_TOPIC section, whereas it should be a section by itself I think..

BTW: Gert, dunno If YOU know the answer, but say, I uploaded a picture in the photo-corner-thingy.. And I'd like to use such an image in a posting. Say, right here..
How to do that?
I normally 'click-right => Img properties => Select => Copy => Img tag etc etc..

But with the new photo-album-thiny, things tend to go wrong: I don't see an img property that ends with anything like .gif or .jpg or even .png

How to do this O mighty (2 testikeled admins)

Under the picture in the Gallery is the absolute URL displayed

and where to easily quote (pieces) of the message (es) above?

Just click reply under the message, it will be quoted automaticly

Really really like the 'way' this forum works.. It's so well thought of. The alt=" " tags are well sorted, the menu when you click on ones name (next to the avatar),... really nice..

And when you dicide you wish to go to advanced mode while typing a quick reply, it DOES remember the text that you typed in....
