golf 2 synchro problem
 

With just bought synchro country, built 1991, to wintersport.
In snow we discovered synchro did not select in reverse.
Foreward no problems, what can it be , may this freewheel?

goodbey the reverse lite zwitch\on top of the gearboxs is failing.
